Sound Therapy

Sound Therapy for Women in Bearsden, Milngavie & Glasgow

What Is Sound Therapy?

Sound therapy is a deeply immersive practice that uses vibration and sound to support relaxation, help the nervous system settle and create space for the mind and body to slow down.

A range of instruments including crystal bowls, drums, chimes and rain sticks are played intuitively throughout the session, creating layers of sound and vibration around you.

Women come to sound therapy for all sorts of reasons. Some are looking for deep relaxation or relief from constant mental noise, while others are simply curious to experience something different and enjoy the feeling of switching off completely.

There is nothing you need to analyse or “do” during the session. You simply get comfortable, listen and allow yourself to receive the experience in whatever way feels natural for you.

What To Expect During Your Session

Your session begins with a brief check in so you can settle into the space and share anything that feels relevant.

You’ll then get comfortable while a range of instruments are played around you, including crystal bowls, drums, chimes, rain sticks and other sound tools depending on the session.

The experience can feel very different from person to person. Some women notice the vibration physically through the body, some drift into a deeply relaxed state, and others simply enjoy the feeling of having nothing to think about or do for a while.

There is no right or wrong way to experience sound therapy. You don’t need any previous experience, and everything will be explained before the session begins.

For sessions held at Source & Soul, blankets, cushions and everything you need to get comfortable are provided.

Who Sound Therapy Is For

Sound therapy can be a lovely option for women who feel mentally overloaded, physically tense or simply find it difficult to properly switch off.

It can be especially helpful if you:

• Feel wired but exhausted

• Carry tension through your shoulders, chest or jaw

• Struggle with constant mental noise or overthinking

• Find traditional meditation difficult

• Feel emotionally drained or disconnected from yourself

• Want to experience a deeper, more immersive form of relaxation

Some women come because they feel stressed or depleted. Others are simply curious about sound and vibration, or enjoy having dedicated time where there is nothing to analyse,

achieve or work out.

You don’t need to have a specific problem or reason for coming. Sound therapy can simply be something you choose because you enjoy the experience and value how calm, settled and spacious you feel afterwards.

Who It May Not Be Suitable For

Sound therapy may not be suitable for everyone, and there are some situations where extra caution is needed.

Please contact me before booking if you:

• Are pregnant, particularly during the first trimester

• Have epilepsy or a history of seizures

• Have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device

• Have significant hearing sensitivities or tinnitus

• Have recently had surgery or are recovering from a serious medical condition

• Are currently under medical care and are unsure whether sound therapy is suitable for you

Sound therapy is a complementary practice and is not a substitute for medical care. If you have any concerns about whether a session is appropriate for you, please speak with your GP or healthcare professional before booking.

Session Formats

Sound therapy sessions are available in the following formats:

A completely private sound experience tailored around you, with time to settle in before the instruments begin and a gentle grounding close at the end.

1:2 Shared Session

A lovely option for friends, family or partners who want to experience sound therapy together while still keeping the session calm and personal.

For some women, having regular space to slow down and reconnect with themselves brings greater awareness of the thoughts, habits or patterns they’re ready to explore more deeply.

If that feels familiar, transformational coaching offers a more structured space to understand what’s keeping you stuck and begin making meaningful changes.
